A DISCUSSION OF NEUTRAL MILK HOTEL’S IN THE AEROPLANE OVER THE SEA

BY APRIL LUDGATE

In the Aeroplane Over the Sea is the best album ever made and all other albums stink, and if you don’t agree, I’ll fight you.

Love, April

April

We all know that April loves Neutral Milk Hotel. (I mean, don’t we all?)

And with In The Aeroplane Over The Sea having graced our ears for fifteen years this week, it’s only right that April (via Parks And Rec’s Mike Schur) should write something for it.

You can find the whole piece on Vulture. Check it.

  1. I used to be one of the ILU JESUS -guys. This album rips open alot of found memories of my mid-teens when me and my fnerid sat down in his room, wich was located in a wooden cabinet in the woods a bit from his parents house. We’d pop open some beers and he was like I’m gonna let you hear something and he played KOTKFpt.2 and we rolled around laughing. I always dissmissed the record’s morbid feeling as music written by pot smokers, but after seeing this, I’m gonna give it another shot. (Y)
